Optical Emission Spectroscopy as a Diagnostic Tool for Characterization of Atmospheric Plasma Jets

چکیده

A suitable technique for localized surface treatment of solid materials is an atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ). The properties the APPJ often depend on small details like concentration gaseous impurities what influences kinetics. simplest and most useful configuration presented, characterized by optical emission spectroscopy (OES), results are discussed in view various papers. Furthermore, additional recent papers characterization OES presented as well. Because operating at pressure, even water vapor traces may significantly alter type reactive species. sustained noble gases represents a source vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation that absorbed treated material, thus causing bond scission. addition minute amounts causes significant suppression VUV formation radicals. These radicals such OH, O, N, NO, O3, alike interact chemically with its functionalization. Huge gradients these have been reported, so finish limited to area reached Particularly OH prevail spectra, when using very pure gas. They cause other spectral features. especially pronounced Ar plasmas. Their density decreases exponentially distance from orifice.

First hydrogen operation of NIO1: Characterization of the source plasma by means of an optical emission spectroscopy diagnostic.

NIO1 (Negative Ion Optimization 1) is a compact and flexible radio frequency H(-) ion source, developed by Consorzio RFX and INFN-LNL. The aim of the experimentation on NIO1 is the optimization of both the production of negative ions and their extraction and beam optics. In the initial phase of its commissioning, NIO1 was operated with nitrogen, but now the source is regularly operated also wit...

Detection of Ultraweak Photon Emission (UPE) from Cells as a Tool for Pathological Studies

Objective: It is well-known that all living cells emit ultra-weak photon emission (UPE), which is due to byproducts of chemical reactions in cell metabolisms. It has been shown that Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in the cells enhances the UPE intensity. The magnitude of such UPE is extremely weak (i.e. a few to 103 photons/ (sec.cm2)), and the detection of such ultra-weak signals is hardly possi...

Dust grains as a Diagnostic Tool for RF-Discharge Plasma

Dust particles can be a useful plasma diagnostic tool. Sufficiently dust particles can be used as test grains for the visualization of the plasma potential distribution; larger dust particles can be used as specific probes to determine electron temperature. Here we report on diagnostic measurements carried out in a capacitively coupled planar rf discharge. The location of the sheath edge has be...

Study of Plasma System by OES (Optical Emission Spectroscopy)

Low-temperature and low-pressure plasma was investigated by OES (optical emission spectroscopy) in the range 200–1100 nm. For displaying measured emission spectra and identification of spectrum lines the software Spectrum Analyzer was used. Two modes of glow discharge present in the DC cylindrical magnetron apparatus which were previously researched by a mass spectrometer were studied by OES. T...
